I want to join BRASS

Additional Voluntary Contributions (AVCs) are a tax-efficient way to save more towards your pension benefits.

BRASS is the main AVC arrangement  for 1970 Section members.

Your BRASS AVCs are invested in a range of funds with the aim of building up extra benefits over time.

You can manage your own funds or have them managed for you.  See what BRASS fund choices might work best for you.

Your BRASS benefits are added to your main Fund benefits when you retire. Or, you can transfer them out.

The benefits

  • Your BRASS contributions are taken from your pay before tax so they are tax-free

(unless you go over your Annual Allowance).

How do I join?

If you are a member of the 1970 Section and are interested in joining BRASS or would like more information, please speak to your employer.

Look after your BRASS

It's a good idea to check your investment funds regularly to make sure they're working for you.

The easiest way to do this is by signing into your myFund account. You can also see how your funds are performing and change your investments whenever you want.

You can change your investments online in your myFund account, or download, complete and return the Change of Investments form - BRASS.
